Terms of Service

By accessing, browsing, registering an account on, or otherwise using the Matigo Examinations Board platform (available at matigoexams.org and its associated subdomains and digital portals), you ("User", "School Administrator", "Institution", "Examiner", "Marks Entrant", or "Visitor") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), together with our Privacy Policy, Data Processing Agreement, Examiner Confidentiality Terms, and Cookie Policy.

If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an educational institution, school, or organization, you represent and warrant that you are a duly authorized representative possessing full legal authority to bind such institution. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the platform.

2.1 Private Commercial Examination Board

Matigo Examinations Board is an independent, private, commercial mock examination and assessment management service provider operating in Uganda. Matigo Examinations Board is not owned, operated, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Government of Uganda or the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).

2.2 Purpose of Assessments

All mock examinations, assessment frameworks, standardized grading rubrics, scoring algorithms, and performance analytics provided by the platform are designed solely for preparatory, diagnostic, formative, and continuous assessment purposes. While our grading engines adhere to UNEB-aligned standard aggregation matrices (for Primary Leaving Examinations - PLE, Uganda Certificate of Education - UCE, and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education - UACE), results issued through this platform constitute simulated assessment indicators and do not replace official UNEB certificates or statutory national transcripts.

3.1 Eligibility and Verification

To access administrative and assessment features, users must apply for an account. All accounts undergo administrative verification and approval by Matigo Examinations Board administrators before access is granted.

3.2 User Roles & Responsibilities

• School Administrators (Institutions): Educational institutions that register to manage candidate enrollments, review performance metrics, print digital result slips, and manage assessment billing.
• Examiners / Scorers / Marks Entrants: Qualified educators authorized by Matigo Examinations Board to score physical scripts, input paper marks, and finalize grading rubrics.
• System Administrators: Authorized platform operators responsible for subject configurations, verification, and technical maintenance.

3.3 Account Credentials

You are solely responsible for maintaining the strict confidentiality of your login credentials (email and password). You agree to immediately notify Matigo Examinations Board of any unauthorized access, breach of security, or compromised credentials. Matigo Examinations Board shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your login information.

4.1 School Authority and Parental Consent

Educational institutions submitting candidate and student records (including candidate names, index numbers, gender, class streams, and subject enrollments) warrant that:

1. They hold lawful institutional authority or verifiable parental/guardian consent to submit minors' educational records to Matigo Examinations Board for assessment processing.
2. All submitted candidate data is accurate, up-to-date, and free from deliberate falsification or unauthorized third-party information.

4.2 Controller-to-Processor Relationship

In respect of student personal data processed on the platform, the educational institution acts as the Data Controller, and Matigo Examinations Board acts as the Data Processor pursuant to the Data Processing Agreement.

5.1 Platform Property

All software, source code, database architectures, user interfaces, branding, trademarks, logos, visual designs, algorithmic grading routines, and proprietary documentation associated with matigoexams.org are the exclusive intellectual property of Matigo Examinations Board and are protected by Ugandan and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

5.2 Examination Materials & Mark Schemes

All mock examination papers, questions, marking guides, rubrics, and diagnostic solutions published or distributed by Matigo Examinations Board remain the proprietary intellectual property of the board. Users are granted a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to administer these materials strictly for designated registered candidates. Unauthorized reproduction, resale, online syndication, or distribution to unregistered third parties is strictly prohibited.

5.3 Digital Result Slips

Digital result slips and performance transcripts generated by the platform may be printed, downloaded, and distributed by registered school administrators solely to corresponding students, parents, and authorized academic personnel.

Authorized examiners and marks entrants agree to:

1. Adhere strictly to the official marking guides and standardized scoring keys provided for each assessment paper.
2. Maintain zero tolerance for grade manipulation, arbitrary scoring, bias, or fraudulent score generation.
3. Keep all candidate scripts, raw scores, and marking sessions strictly confidential in accordance with the Examiner Confidentiality Agreement.
4. Promptly lock and submit marks upon complete verification. Once submitted, assessments become immutable school records.

1. Schools agree to pay all applicable assessment fees, paper coordination charges, and processing tariffs as detailed in formal proforma invoices and rate cards issued through the portal.
2. Invoices generated through the platform reflect student enrollment counts and selected assessment packages. Payment terms are strictly as stated on the respective invoice.
3. Matigo Examinations Board reserves the right to withhold digital result slips, performance analytics, or portal access for overdue balances following reasonable notice.

1. While we endeavor to maintain 99.9% platform availability, we do not warrant that service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely resilient to telecommunications outages or host infrastructure downtime.
2. We reserve the right to perform scheduled maintenance, apply security patches, or modify features at our discretion.
3. We may suspend or terminate account access immediately for violations of these Terms, non-payment, unauthorized automated scraping, bot attacks, or malicious tampering.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law in the Republic of Uganda:

1. In no event shall Matigo Examinations Board, its directors, employees, examiners, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, institutional goodwill, or academic standing) arising out of or related to your use of the platform.
2. Matigo Examinations Board's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by the institution to Matigo Examinations Board during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall first be submitted to mutual amicable negotiations. If unresolved within thirty (30) days, the dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Kampala, Uganda.

Matigo Examinations Board reserves the right to revise and update these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting to the legal repository. Continued use of the platform following the posting of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.
